Tierpark@Zoo by the riverside
|
|
A marathon will be held in the town today beginning from 1.30-7.30pm,so we had to rush to the town and get our bus to Tierpark,that is before the tram and bus stop operating bcos most of the main roads will be closed for that particular marathon.Tierpark is located in outskirt city mainly becoz of its preserved nature park,and what we've heard is that this zoo is built alongside the river...must be amazing scenery..later ok... 
This is the entrance and the kids upon discovering a playground next to the pony and horses's lair...the smell was...well,better left unsaid...hihi

We walked for 1 hour and a half in the park then rushed out to get the last bus to the town,after all,we had an invitation for lunch at kak Ina's house in Kursaal.Too bad though,the tram came one by one but we cannot squeeze in at all,people are crowding in...better still,kak Ina's house isn't that far so we just walked there.... 
Melayu in Bern are nice,friendly and helpful and I think I like it here...Actually we have another lunch invitation tomorrow so I made this temosa turkey to bring over as pot luck to kak Zara's house tomorrow...

Really needed to go out...not for mere walk in the fresh breeze of Bern,BUT need some groceries at Coop nearby(Coop is like Giant and Carrefour in Msia-we can find cheap items here compared to other stores,but needless to say still pricier compared to our own Msian products...ok)
So,firstly,before the stroller is overloaded with those goods,better have that little walk at the park,not for me...but for the kids,ok....ok,ok...for me too,hihihi
After that...ok kids,time to move it...better get going now,mommy got some errands to do at the shop!Here are some of those items we got from the shop:
Ok...all together,I've spent chf21.80=rm69.70 for all those 9 items???OMG...so small things for such an amount of money...what to do....nak idup kan...
And then,as I was going thru some fp,with all those wish for Happy Mother's Day(it doesn't mean that much to me nowadays since I have no one to wish anymore...walking down that memory lane,I never missed the opportunity to wish my late mother Selamat Hari Ibu,no matter where I go...I never failed to wish her that...which she will reply at the end of other phone piece...Tima Kasih....  Now...all that I can do is to pray for her best and Allah will keep her safe in 'there'...Aminnnn....)continue back to my current story...A'an asked me about Mother's Day...why people have that particular mother's day?He offered to make me a card...so he was busy preparing the card for me and of course he came to me for the spelling etc...I feel moved with this...and,I couldn't help thinking my mother would have felt the same too when her children wished her Selamat Hari Ibu before...
THANK YOU TO MY CHILDREN FOR GIVING ME THIS TITLE:IBU-THE BEST GIFT OF ALL...

More on Bern
|
|
The weather has been so beautiful lately that as soon as the kids were up and about,I decided to take them out again for another Bern tour,just by ourselves...  I didn't say a word about this to my darling hubby,afraid that he wouldn't let us go that far...well,he needs to try to have faith in me sometimes,I can be streetsmart too...as long as he let me be on my two feet.
Well enuff said,the kids were so obedient,since they know we're up to something today,so no more throwing tantrums at the thoughts of having shower really early in the morning.
So,off we went to the park as the first stop to perk up the kids' spirit...BUT..kids,they refused to go anywhere once we stopped for so-called brief play session@the park..phew,have to act along though... 
After almost half an hour,we at last managed to break away from the play park,continuing our journey..
Just walked over the bridge and found ourselves in the city,
From the museum walkway,we finally descending the hillside...and,to my pleasant surprise we found the river and there is a small bridge to walk over the water,A'an was kinda scared to walk on the small bridge,but since he saw people were crossing I didn't need to assure him of the safety anymore,but to tell you the truth,I was having this eerie feeling of tripping into the flowing river and not knowing how to swim,it really freaks me out...But the scenery is unbelievable! 
Finally we needed to climb up the hill to go home in Bretenrain again...and as usual I stumbled upon a collection of wild flower as we went up the hill. 
We were sooo famished from our walk and had to hurry home for a nice warm home cooked meal...

@Rosengarten(Rosegarden)

I was told that there is a Rosegarden on the hill next to Tourist Information Centre,so...upon hearing of the existance of the so-called rose garden,I couldn't wait any longer...so up we went the hill.This is the entrance to the Garden Rose,it pays off to see the green park spreading out before my very eyes.
BUT..to my disappointment,the garden is still in the re-planting process after the winter.So,there are not even one single species of rose available.So frustrating,after a big effort of climbing up this hill,there is no rosegarden at all... ,but then..something else live up to my expectation,the view from the hill is superb,we can even see the whole town of Bern,magnifico!!!
Chancing upon a bunch of flowers,not forgetting some tulips,well...they might not be roses but I can make do with this anyway,at least for now.
Lovey dovey couple of the year,hunnymooning in Swiss,hahahah Well,credits to A'an my little photographer for seizing romantic moments of mommy & daddy,we hardly have any chance striking a pose with each other since we're not double anymore nowadays but quadruplet...hahaha
At the tram stop,we had a llittle stroll in front of the casino plaza,it used to be casino before but nowadays it just operates as a family restaurant.
Me again,versus another bunch of flower,this time it's jasmine,yes,u got it right,it is jasmine alright,but maybe another species,the smell is so jasmine,but with different look.

Exploring Geneva

We're taking this morning train at 10.04 am to Geneva,so by 8.30,all of us were ready for our next adventurous day.I managed to keep in touch with K.Yati from Geneva who has agreed to take us around Geneva.
Luckily the kids were at their best behaviour today since we had agreed if anyone misbehaved then there shall be no more future trips for that particular person,namely A'an & Anis of course,mommy and daddy never get in the list since we are the parents and the regulator,hahaha
The view along the train ride from Bern to Geneva are so panoramic and Subhanallah,I cudn't ask for more...so natural beauty.The Alps,the Lake Le'Man and all those greeneries are amazing!!!
As for Geneva,this city is built around the lake and it's a big city,much bigger compared to Bern...and I must say it consists of nice beautiful building and it also has an old town well preserved by the UN to maintain its culture and heritage...to find out more about Geneva,u can go to http://yatiseman.fotopages.com[/b]

BIG BROKEN CHAIR IN GENEVA
Anybody who's lived in Geneva, (and for that matter anyone who's visited) is probably aware of the big broken chair in Place des Nations, a piece of protest art by Daniel Berset on the subject of landmines. People who have a gripe with the UN or one or more of its member states have held frequent demonstrations under the chair. Because of the more-or-less constant demonstrations the lawn on which the big broken chair lived was usually a big muddy mess.
This week the chair is back after an absence of a couple of years during which the plaza under it was renovated. They've redone the whole thing as one gigantic concrete fountain, replacing the lawn which was there before.
An interesting point is that the chair, which arrived in 1997, wasn't originally intended to occupy Place des Nations perminently, but only for three months. It's not particulary well thought of in the UN where a couple of the more powerful member states aren't really on board with the anti-landmine movement. I'll let you dear reader figure out who I'm talking about.
However Handicapped International, the anti-landmine NGO which owns the chair, apparently has some friends in High Swiss Places, namely the federal counselor from Geneva, who happens to be taking a turn as president this year. |

I was so overjoyed with those breathtaking sceneries during our journey that by the time we reached Geneva,the camera's battery was already running low,still managed to get few shots but not to my satisfactory since we have to be cautious of the battery problems... but then thanks to my mobile phone camera,the pictures are not that sharp but not too bad though since it still came in handy for the tulips festival
To Kak Yati & family,thanks sooooo much for being such a sporting and great host ,your hospitality is very much appreciated!And..sorry for that commotion in the first place...huhu...

First export sales and first sales agencies in Germany, in the Balkans and in the Middle East. Bata shoes are of excellent quality and are available in more styles than had ever been offered before. Demand grows rapidly.

Sales reach 2 million pairs per year produced by 5000 employees. Advanced production equipment is imported. As the Company prospers so do the communities where it operates. Bata creates stores, builds housing, schools and hospitals near factories.

1945
All Bata companies in Eastern European countries are nationalized by communist governments.
The Company starts rebuilding itself from the remaining entities located outside Eastern Europe.
1960s
The Company’s headquarters are officially relocated in Toronto under the leadership of Thomas J Bata. The Company expands its international reach through new factories serving local markets.
1970s
Private labels are created to be marketed to new customer segments: Bubblegummers, Power, Marie Claire, North Star.
1980s
Retail excellence is becoming even more important. Bata develops a variety of retail concepts such as Bata city stores, large format stores and sport concept stores.
1989
Following the political changes the Bata Company is invited to return to the Czech Republic where the Company remains a symbol of national pride and achievement.
1990s
Creativity, product innovation and research for higher quality levels lie at the core of Bata product development policy. The result is the international high standard Bata Premium collection.
1995
Partnerships develop in Eastern Europe. Bata stores reopen in Russia, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia.
1999
To adjust to the market evolution Bata undertakes a major reorientation from manufacturing to designing, marketing and distribution.
2001
Thomas G Bata, founder’s grandson becomes the Group’s chairman. A new international structure is implemented around 4 meaningful business units (MBUs) to give more focus to the business and gain synergies within each region, especially in sourcing and product development.
2002
As part of re-inventing its core competencies, Bata Shoe innovation Centres open around the world to focus on the development of shoes with exclusive comfort technology features and designs.
2004
New steps in China with the opening of the Bata procurement centre in Guanzhou and a distribution partnership for the opening of Bata retail stores.
2006
Start of the 262 acres Riverbank township construction to modernize the Batanagar factory complex, near Kolkata. It is expected to be completed by 2011 with 2500 modern housing for employees, a large hospital, a school, an IT park, a hotel and residential flats along the riverside.

The look is very presentable since I have managed to cover it up with chocolate topping,as for the taste...well,I'm not the one to judge here...

outing,outing,outing...

Nobody can stay indoor on weekend,or can they?Not for me though...the weather is rather fine today,still need those piles of clothes but not too cold though,the temperature was around 14 degrees this morning,so no harm to wear lots of clothes,when the sun shine and u feel a little sweaty,u can alwiz take it off...
We took a tram to the city centre,Bahnhof but decided to go home walking along on the bridge,surprisingly,it wasn't that far...I think i can do that again!And,the view along the bridge are so magnificent...I'm glad I walked this far...one more thing,I managed to snap swiss alps at the horizon...so beautiful...what a magical scenery...this reminds me of how powerful our Creator is...Subhanallah...

Bern Tour

Yesss!!Today is Saturday,as promised,we will have our Bern Tour Day today..and the tourist guide for the day is our newly found friend from fotopages world http://pjoe80.fotopages.com.
Eversince we arrived here in Bern,he has been lending his helping hand,fetching us at the train station(Railcity) since day one and now,he has been like a brother to us here,talking about musafir,we sort of bonding in just one day,it's like we've known each other forever...hahaha,instant relative in Bern,that is...
So,introducing to you,this is Pjoe or Hafizul Adnan,very sporting and easy going guy...in case anyone is coming here again,u can always contact him...haha(what is this?A commercial ad for tourist guide?)
THE SCHEDULE:
10.30-meet up at Railcity
11.00-took a tram ride to Gurten
11.20-riding in cable car to climb up the hill to Gurten
11.20-12.20-spending some time sightseeing
12.30-took our ride in the cable car down the hill from Gurten
12.40-next trip to Old Town
12.40-1.30-walking thru the streets in Old Town
1.30-Finally took our ride home to Brikenweg in Breteinrain,7 stops away from city center.

Another day out

Mmg dah plan awal2 with the kids to go out early this morn,so we have to firstly fill our stomach to get geared up for another walk...
The breakfast today is:Breadrolls(taken from mamafami's fp-TQ ) and sardin and sambal ikan billis....
  
Burpps...Alhamdulillah,then we are all set to go on the move again!!!Let's move it kids...
It took us almost 2 hours and a half...walking,walking...and making new discoveries...before we finally called it a day bcoz not only the kids were hungry but their mommy as well,grrr...our tummies were growling...so,to be continued!
